This is an excellent formula for treating occasional constipation. It is also called Tao Ren Wan, Lubricate the Intestines Pills, Run Chang Wan, Moisten Intestines Pill, Persica Pills.

Function:
Moistens the intestines, clears heat, tonifies blood, frees the stool, clears and purges the bowel.

Indications:
Use for occasional constipation due to heat, deficiency of fluid and deficiency of blood. Helpful in constipation due to older age, weakness, or postpartum.
The seeds of Persica Tao Ren (peach seed) and Sesame Hei Zhi Ma (sesame seed) contain roughage as well as essential oils acting to break up and lubricate stool impactions. Rheum Da Huang is a purgative and also helps to treat constipation due to heat. The product is popular with the aged as an effective constipation remedy.
