Xiang Sha Yang Wei Wan (Nourish Stomach Teapills, Hsiang Stomach Pill, Aucklandia, Amomum Nourish Stomach Pill), is a useful formula for weakened digestion marked by food stagnation: bloating, gurgling, nausea, and acid regurgitation.*
Function: Dispels damp, transforms phlegm, harmonizes the stomach, counters ascent of stomach qi, tonifies spleen qi, soothes the liver, promotes digestion.
Indications: Use for occasional digestive complaints characterized by poor appetite, abdominal distension, accumulation of phlegm and food matter, nausea, acid regurgitation, borborygmus (abdominal gurgling sounds) and loose or erratic stools.
This formula prioritizes stagnation of qi, phlegm and damp rather than an underlying deficiency.
